Mersea Shore

A somewhat ancient boat at Mersea

on the shore.

This lovely old anchor had been rescued from the shoreline and brought up onto dry land. But in 2009 I noticed that it had been completely removed and hidden away somewhere - shame, I had really enjoyed photographing its descent into total decay.

A wooden jetty decaying gently in the sun and salty Mersea  air.

The landward side of the same boat, with better preservation of the red paint.

A newer anchor - also corroding on the shore.
